How to paint Lizardmen Saurus
Paints: Chaos Black, Enchanted Blue, Ice Blue, Bleached Bone, Fiery Orange, Skull White, Brazen Brass(Dwarf Bronze), Shining Gold, Tin Bitz, Asurmaen Blue, Devlan Mud, Gryphonne Sepia and Ogryn Flesh.
Step 1: Start by basecoating the components with Chaos Black(I paint each component separately as I find it easier than painting the model when it is assembled)
Step 2: Paint the Saurus' skin with slightly watered down Ice Blue, and drybrush the scales Enchanted Blue.
Step 3: Then paint the claws and back spines Bleached Bone, the eyes Fiery Orange, the teeth Skull White, the crest spikes Enchanted Blue and the spine and tail armour Brazen Brass, or another bronze-like metallic paint(Dwarf Bronze)
Step 4: Apply a wash of Asurmen Blue to the scales and crest spikes, another light wash of Asurmen Blue to the skin, wash the claws with Devlan Mud and apply a few washes of Gryphonne Sepia to the spine and tail armour.
Step 5: Paint the Saurus weaponry with Brazen Brass(Dwarf Bronze), Shining Gold and Tin Bitz, and then wash the whole weapon with Ogryn Flesh.
Step 6: Apply a heavy coat of Scab Red to the shield scales, but leave the crevices Chaos Black. When the Scab Red paint has dried, apply a few washes of Baal Red. Paint the reinforced spikes Brazen Brass or Dwarf Bronze, and wash them with Ogryn Flesh.
Extra Details: For the pupils, dot in a tiny bit of Chaos Black.Highlight the claw edges with Bleached Bone. Another thing I like to do is to paint elaborate designs on the Command Groups crests in Enchanted Blue.
Afterword: Thanks for reading this article and I hope you found it useful. I hope to add more painting advice, mainly for Lizardmen and Orks, in the not too distant future.
